You'll never need this much reach on a typical track bike but if you're riding a MASH Steel or Veloci Old Street with big honkin' tires and don't want to use a cantilever brake, the R559 is a high quality extra long reach dual-pull caliper with refillable cartridge-type brake pads.

This is also what you'll probably need if you've converted an old road frame designed for using 27" wheels to 700c.

Trust us - this caliper has WAY too much reach for a Surly Steamroller. The Steamroller uses short/mid reach calipers.
